Iguazu National Park covers an area of 672 km². The name “Iguazu” originates from the Guarani or Tupi words — “y,” meaning “water,” and “guasu,” meaning “big.” Legend has it that a deity intended to marry a beautiful woman named Naipi who fled with her mortal lover Taroba in a canoe. In his fury, the god split the river, creating the waterfalls and condemning the lovers to an eternal fall.
Iguazu Falls is one of the largest reserves of flora and fauna in both Argentina and Brazil, offering visitors the chance to stroll along hidden trails and marvel at spectacular panoramic views of the waterfalls.
